Guten Abend, Herr Hunter! [A familiar, jovial voice greets Chico.] How are you this fine evening? Hard at work, I assume.

Lucky break, then, that I got you on the phone, ja? [He chuckles.] Do you have a few minutes?

[ There comes a sigh from Chico, not exactly resigned. But obviously the boy is thinking hard on something. ]

[ Holding out a phone sort of tells everyone around him he's not as impoverished as he's making it seem. So he gathers up his hat and leaves the area. Now he can speak openly. ]
